Guidance Counselors

By Kaitlynn Jepsen

Guidance counselors are hired at schools to help children with their personal problems, applying for colleges, and so much more. They are great, but ours is the best! Mrs. Poppe is the Clarksville School’s guidance counselor. She has been working at the school since 2007.
Her favorite thing about Clarksville is the size and how she is able to build so many positive relationships with all the amazing students. She looks forward to seeing all the students grow up and make a positive impact on the world. She has helped my friends and I so much, and we are so grateful to have her.
Mrs. Poppe went to Iowa state for her master's degree in school counseling. She is married and has 3 daughters, Hannah, Maddie, and Emma. Her youngest daughter, Emma, is graduating this year from high school. She has a dog that her family and her adopted from the animal shelter. She is the cheer coach for basketball cheerleading.
She really enjoys seeing her students succeed and finally work through their problems. She is pretty funny and is an amazing, kind-hearted person in general. Clarksville would be pretty dull without her here to direct and help all of us towards the right decisions. Thank you, Mrs. Poppe for being a great guidance counselor and person.
