Junior College Fair

By Cheyenne Behrends

The Junior class had to start thinking about their futures today. Mrs. Poppe took the Junior class down to the Mcleod Center at UNI to explore all types of colleges. The College Fair had many things to offer. They could ask questions, explore many types of majors, and also meet new people! Just to name a few colleges that were there: Drake University, University of Northern Iowa, University of Iowa, Central College, Iowa Lakes College, Hawkeye Community College, Luther College, and Simpson College. There were many more different ones as well. “The admission guides really helped us answer whatever questions we had. They really knew everything that they were talking about.” Said a Junior.
Many of the Clarksville students loved University of Iowa. They had many majors and minors to offer. They also had a pretty big campus, which many of the students liked. A couple other students loved the University of Northern Iowa. One student in particular pointed out that they had thirty-three different kinds of ice cream flavors! That was the choosing factor for that student!
All in all, the Junior class had a really good day today at the Mcleod Center. Some students are already starting to plan visits, others are starting to decide what they would want their major/minor to be. If you have a student/kid that is curious about colleges, or just want to know more information about a certain college, then I highly recommend to take them here!
