     It’s October and the holiday season is coming. Halloween is right around the corner, Thanksgiving is in a couple of weeks, and Christmas is just a couple months away. The end of the year has begun.
     I like this time of year for many reasons. This is when the holidays start to approach. Halloween is always a good time because of fall. I think most people love fall, especially in Iowa. The weather starts to become enjoyable again. It’s not scorching hot out, but it’s not below freezing yet either. The trees start to turn different colors, making everything prettier.
     Then comes Thanksgiving, and the delicious food comes out. A lot of families come together as a tradition and have a big meal. I always enjoy family get-togethers for the most part. Some people don’t get to see their families very often, so they appreciate when they do.
     The holiday that a lot of people enjoy the most out of all of these is Christmas. There are so many things that go into Christmas. Many people start planning for it months in advance. For example, Black Friday is when a lot of people get their presents to give to people. This is when stores have big sales and deals. Another thing that typically happens after Thanksgiving is decorating. Many families put up Christmas decorations in/on their house. Christmas trees are very common with decorating. You can either get a real one or a fake one and decorate how you please. There’s also a variety of Christmas movies and music that people enjoy during this holiday season.
     Families gather once again when Christmas Day gets closer. They typically have a meal and share presents with one another. As you can see, Christmas can bring happiness in many ways.
    The holiday that wraps up the year is New Year’s Eve. This is when people gather to celebrate the year they’ve had, and the year to come.
